Lakers point guard Steve Blake and his wife Kristen received death threats on twitter after he missed a late 3-pointer against the Thunder in Game 2 of the series.

"I hope your family gets murdered," read one tweet that Kristen Blake re-tweeted along with a single comment: "Wow."

Kristen Blake also mentioned on her Twitter account that she blocked more than 500 people from viewing her timeline and quoted a Bible verse that included the message: "Pray for those who abuse you."

Blake could have sent the game to overtime, had he made that shot. There should not be any place for those kind of remarks. In the meanwhile, as an athlete, I probably would warn my wife that she could see hateful things on her twitter timeline, whenever my team loses.

Blake isn't the only one to have gotten death threats after a loss, he is one of many. The San Francisco 49ers punt returner Kyle Wiliams received much worse after his fumble against the Giants in the NFC championship game this past season. Retweeting negative comments will only bring more negative energy.
