Lakers point guard Ramon Sessions decided to opt out of his contract with the Lakers, and refused the $4 million he would have earned during the 2010-13 season.

That's actually a good move by Sessions, in my opinion. I don't think the Lakers were convinced in his ability to lead the team. Sessions was very inconsistent during in his days with the Lakers, but he did enough to show that he can be a starting point guard on a lesser team.

I doubt Sessions opted out not knowing what team he would probably choose to join for next year. The Lakers don't have much cap space, since Bynum, Gasol and Kobe are still under contract. Sessions could easily find a better deal somewhere else. For the very least, the Lakers helped him get more exposure, and great playoff experience.
