NFL star running back LaDainian Tomlinson will reportedly sign a one-day deal with the San Diego Chargers, and then retire:

He entered the NFL a Charger, re-wrote the record book a Charger, and in nine of his 11 seasons, to the chants of "LT!, LT!, LT!," endeared himself to San Diego a Charger.

LaDainian Tomlinson, among the greatest of football players this town has known, is ready to retire as one.

The franchise's most prolific running back will hang up his cleats for good, signing a contract with the team Monday before announcing his retirement.

The Chargers later Sunday announced a press conference scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday.

Tomlinson, who turns 33 on Saturday, spent the past two seasons with the New York Jets, but for his legendary NFL career, San Diego is home.
