Kobe Bryant reportedly told a Spanish reporter that Pau Gasol would be a Laker as long as he is a Laker, according to The Associated Press' Brian Mahoney:

Most people see Gasol as Kobe Bryant's punching bag, because he seems to always get yelled at by the Lakers' superstar whenever he makes a mistake. However, most people who know basketball, also now that Gasol is a top center in the league, and also has awesome human values that he carries on to the court. Gasol is one of those politically correct players, who goes about his business and stays out of trouble. It's also partially why he rarely fights Kobe back during games. He sometimes shows too much respect, and appears soft (which he probably is a little).

It's nice to see that if many Laker fans no longer appreciate Gasol, Kobe does, and isn't afraid to say it. That could actually be the reason why we don't hear anymore Gasol trade talks, but the diva Andrew Bynum instead.
