The New York Knicks will reportedly not match the Houston Rockets' offer for Jeremy Lin, according to the NY Times, which means that Lin will play for Houston next season:

The Knicks plan to cut ties with Jeremy Lin on Tuesday night, according to a person briefed on the decision, ending a brief, spectacular and now bittersweet love affair between the 23-year-old point guard and his adoring fan base. Lin will play next season for the Houston Rockets, who signed him to a three-year, $25.1 million offer sheet that the Knicks have elected not to match.

Although Jeremy Lin had a great run last season, I do believe that the Knicks made the right decision in not matching the Rockets' offer. The Knicks' head coach Mike Woodson is not a big fan of Lin, and just young players in general. He would rather play veterans, that have experience and play under control... Kind of like Raymond Felton and Jason Kiidd, go figure why they are on the team.

I really didn't see how that rotation was going to work anyway. There would have been way too many good guards on the roster for Woodson to play everyone, and keep everyone happy. Oh and also, many Knicks players would have probably looked at Lin a certain way, especially JR Smith, who "only" signed a 2-year $5.5 million. Even I believe he deserved more.

Smart move by the New York Knicks, who in my opinion, belong to the teams that were able to make great changes to improve their personnel.
