New York Knicks fans trashed Jeremy Lin on his facebook page after his signing to the Houston Rockets:

Like I said earlier, there is more to it than Jeremy Lin just wanting to leave the team that made him... and blah blah blah. First of all, the Knicks did not make Jeremy Lin. He simply fully took advantage of the chance he was given, and made the Madison Garden and Knicks fans love him. It's not like the Knicks brought him in expecting him to play a little role. Knicks fans need to really see who is hypocrite here...

The current Knicks' head coach Mike Woodson is not a big fan of Jeremy Lin, and he probably didn't even plan on making him the starting point guard next season. I don't know if people remember how Lin's responsibilities on the team quickly faded after Mike D'Antoni got fired. Woodson's philosophy was to basically put the ball in his highest paid players' hands, aka Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudamire, and play off them. Lin was no longer a main option.

The Knicks could have shown Lin more love, if they really wanted him back. Instead, as soon as the season ended, they were already recruiting point guards for next season. I don't blame Jeremy Lin for wanting the best situation for himself. And also, that Houston Rockets contract was hard to refuse.

We all saw how good Lin was when he was the main option..soon as Camelo came back he was in the back seat and his body language said it all..he is going to do same damage with Houston and who knows he may end up been the franchise player there

Knicks fans are so fake...this is the same bunch of morons that believe paying for championships is the "American way"...aka, NY Yankers...I mean wankers...sorry, yankees. New York has the worst bunch of pansy, cry baby fans in the nation...thank God for Texas where we don't cry about moves like this. Besides, if they want someone to be angry with, they should start with their money hungry, dingbat owner...are you kidding me? He reminds me of Bud Adams...blame everyone else for his own greed and worthlessness!
#2 - NillyYo - 19/07/2012 - 06:08
Pardon me if I'm wrong but as far as I know, Lin is a restricted free agent. That means Knicks have to match Houston's offer of $30.8 mil to keep Lin (which obviously the knicks didn't do). So it isn't Lin's fault. Right?
#3 - Vinzy - 19/07/2012 - 06:20
Last time I checked, "we'll match any offer" means "we'll match any offer"...unless you're in such an brainless town as NY. #Knicksnation = #Knickswasfakin'

I wonder what the percentage of people spewing the "hate" talk vote Republican vs. Democrat.
#5 - TheSportsAuthority - 19/07/2012 - 07:00
1994...enough said!
#6 - ManTickler - 19/07/2012 - 12:36
@TheSportsAuthority- Hate has no political affiliation. Everybody has an equal opportunity to make ignorant statements online. What cracks me up is that the people who make the racially charged comments actually have their pictures on their profiles! I hope they don't work for a company that might recognize them as bigots. They might wind up an UNrestricted free agent.
#7 - Brett - 19/07/2012 - 14:55
The Knicks did not offer Lin a long term contract rather they let him become a restricted free agent and let him try to come up with a better deal than a one year offer. He did, they could have matched but didn't. Teams don't have any problem trading or cutting players when it benefits them so why should players not do what is in their best interest. Loyalty won't get you the bigger contract. It is a business not a game. Would you turn down a much higher paying job that has a three year guarantee. I don't think so.
#8 - Ron - 19/07/2012 - 19:19
Cant beleive how ignorant propale are, it's one thing to be upset for him leaving and another to make it personal and bein in his race, I'm tired d hearing," if he was black...", or, " if he wasn't Asian"!!
#9 - Chris M. - 20/07/2012 - 01:32
People take sports way too personally. It's just a game, enjoy it for what it is. He wants to go play in Houston, let him go where he thinks is best for him and if you are his fan, then cheer for him. If not don't cheer for him but no need to insult an individual b/c he made a decision to go play for another team. He didn't harm anyone or do anything to anybody!!!

#15 - RIdge - 20/07/2012 - 20:31
Haha, you winy racist New Yorkers!

Luckily, most New Yorkers aren't like you and have brains, like myself. Lin rules!
#16 - WhiteNonRacist - 20/07/2012 - 20:54
Don't let the doorknob hit ya in da ass on the way out! Your 25 games of fame are over. In a couple of years, you'll be delivering chinese food on a bicycle.
#17 - Alley Al - 20/07/2012 - 20:54
Ok, let me cut out all the bullshit and rationally state why Knicks fans are upset about this. The Knicks were working on some moves and had to wait for the early Bird rights arbitration hearing to know if they could even sign Lin. So they told him to look around and see what he could get, with the understanding that the Knicks would match it if they could. He got the offer from Houston and took it back to the Knicks, who told him they intended to match. Then, Jeremy went behind the Knicks' back and met with the Rockets again to renegotiate the offer, making it harder for the Knicks to match. It made sense for the Rockets, but it was incredibly disloyal and disingenuous for Jeremy to do that after coming to an agreement with the Knicks. The fact that he later came out and said he preferred NY bothered me too. If he really preferred NY, he would've stuck with the offer he had, rather than renegotiating to one specifically designed to keep the Knicks from matching.

Also NillyYo, you obviously don't know shit about Knicks fans, because we're in a perpetual state of fury at our owner. Sometimes, though, it's not exclusively his fault.
#18 - DR - 20/07/2012 - 20:58
Haha, good one Alley Al... not. But why the hate? If you were in Cleveland, would you have the same hate on for Lebron?
#19 - WhiteNonRacist - 20/07/2012 - 20:59
Y'all, what does his race have to do with this, anyway?
#20 - WhiteNonRacist - 20/07/2012 - 21:03
There is no honor in professional sports. How about the way your precious Melo dogged it in order to get D'Antoni fired?
I will now route as hard as possible for Lin. I am sure he is glad to rid himself of slimy NY and the moronic, over zealous fans who obviously want to denigrate Lin in order to feel better about themselves.
#21 - Glenn Iannicelli - 20/07/2012 - 21:11
You got it, Glenn! Are those racists with the KKK? I thought KKK wasn't in NY anymore?!
#22 - WhiteNonRacist - 20/07/2012 - 21:14
Has NYC gone KKK?
#23 - WhiteNonRacist - 20/07/2012 - 21:18
j eremy lin im really glad you left please just stop lying to yourself because any rational thinking mind knows your real makeup it was personal and it was about the money you didnt want to play here any more cuz you started to believe the press clippings this is melo and amare team your not the main option dude wake up your not worth 15 million you were not worth 9 million but they were gonna match and keep you but jeremy fake lin you were mad at the only team that gave you a shot and how bout this think about smart guy the only place you going is to the nba draft lottery while your former team goes to the playoffs good riddance jer

I have been a Knick fan for years, and will continue to be. I am ashamed to hear some of the negative comments made towards Lin. This was all about basketball; and racist comments only show how ignorant some of these fans are. In sports, management usually make decisions based on what's good for the organization. Lin made his decision based on what's good for him. What is wrong with that. I say "let's move on" play ball.
#25 - Lee - 20/07/2012 - 21:48
You was a bright light to an other wise fruitless season I wish we would have kept you have a great career in Houston ...drop 40 on us next year ...Dolan sucks!
#26 - rob - 20/07/2012 - 23:26
May God bless Lin and his new journey in Houston. Thank you, on behalf of all New Yorkers, including the ignorant ones who not know what they say or do...
#27 - Alberto O. Cappas - 21/07/2012 - 00:36
I am a new yorker, also a knicks fan, i am glad to see the excitment during lin's games. If you are lin's fan, wish him the best, if you don't like lin, you should feel happy that he left. no need to make any racist comment.
#28 - CMN - 21/07/2012 - 05:10
What A-holes!!! Why don't people realize that JLin & Carmello CAN'T play together!!! NO MATTER WHAT CA says...he hogs the bal too much & slows the offense down. JLin is a TRUE team player. True, the Heat had his number, but with his intelligence & willingness-he'll improve. Good Luck to him. BTW the Knicks mngmt has never had their S**t 2gether and spent WAY too much on Carmello in the 1st place.
Still a Knick fan w/ hope.......
#29 - Majr - 21/07/2012 - 06:10
Look at the people making all the racist comments... just what I expected yet it always everyone else's fault.

#35 - Dennis - 21/07/2012 - 14:10
Marvelous player. Not all NYers are racist and haters. Brought some long needed excitement to sagging NY B-ball and will always be grateful. LinSanity was a great run. DO NOT LET the turkeys keep you down.
#36 - Obama Lin - 21/07/2012 - 14:21
@Jadeix if the knicks were going to keep him then why did they not offer him a deal? The NBA is a business and there is no room for loyalty. The man deserved to get the best he could get for him and his family and he did that. Why risk that?
#37 - Joey - 22/07/2012 - 07:51
yall mothrefuckres are dumb just cause someone is racist doesnt mean he has to be white, LOOK at the fucking comments all kinds of ppl are saying chink and shit. All the "KKK" comments show how fucking stupid your mother is that raised you, since obviously you were raised by just a bitch who kept your dad away from raising you
#38 - Greg - 22/07/2012 - 08:49

#39 - dan x - 22/07/2012 - 19:57
Let Jeremy Lin go on bout his business. He wasn't that good anyway and won't be good in Houston. Even with the so-called linsanity thing going on I wasn't buying it and i'm a knicks fan to say it. This was before linsanity and after linsanity 'Melo's team and lot of u idiots need to understand that. Felton is alot better than Lin so is Kidd, even though he's aging. The Knicks will be just fine without him trust me. LET'S GO KNICKS.
#40 - Daniel - 23/07/2012 - 00:21
Some knicks fans are a bunch of bitch made punks , the knicks let LINSANITY go you punk bitches did this to yourselves. I wouldve done the same shit like LINSANITY str8 disrespect John Gotti wouldve put a hit on the knicks owner for pulling that shit.
#41 - bigdickcheney - 23/07/2012 - 05:37
JLin is God Knowing and God-Fearing guy.
