Jerry Sandusky's lawyers reportedly tried to quit his case, but the judge refused, as ESPN reports:

"We told the trial court, the Superior Court and the Supreme Court we were not prepared to proceed to trial in June due to numerous issues, and we asked to withdraw from the case for those reasons," Amendola said.

Sandusky, a former Penn State assistant football coach, was convicted Friday on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual abuse. His lawyers had said a delay was needed because a key member of the defense team had a scheduling conflict and a lengthy grand jury investigation had inundated them with documents and other materials.

I can see why his lawyers would want to pull out from the case. I'm sure their family and friends, and entourage in general are not so happy about them defending that man. Being Sandusky's lawyer is like defending one of the most evil human beings there is. The guy allegedly molested at least 10 children, and also his adopted son. It must be pretty hard for an attorney to come home to his wife or parents, and explain to them that the person they are defending, allegedly destroyed multiple kids' childhood, including his own son's. Especially if they have kids themselves.
