The Magic's center Dwight Howard will likely be out for the remainder of the season as he was diagnosed with a herniated disk in his back according to the Magic's writer John Denton

"Dwight Howard has been diagnosed with a herniated disk in back. His return will depend on how he responds to treatment. Likely out until POs," Denton tweeted Friday night.

Herniated disks usually necessitate surgery but the Magic are hoping rest will help Howard recover for the post-season.

And just like that, Magic fans lose all hopes to do anything in the playoffs this season. Howard has been inconsistent all season, added to all the speculations about him getting traded or his media feud with Stan Van Gundy. This injury may just be the results of stress. I don't see Howard coming back and dominate in the playoffs at all. The Magic were already one of the worst teams to watch with Howard. I don't want to picture them without him.
