Dwight Howard let kids pay to attend his basketball camp, but decided not to show up. Howard's image will never get better if he continues with the diva attitude. The kids are usually the way for stars and celebrity to regain the people's appreciation, but I guess Howard will pass on that to "treat his back". I understand that he is injured, but a one day trip to Orlando to acknowledge the kids could not be so awful to his back:

According to an official at his annual basketball day camp for children, Dwight Howard will not attend this year, and families who paid the camp’s $199 registration fee were sent e-mail messages Monday to inform them Howard will remain in Southern California in order to continue rehabilitating his back.

Originally, Howard was scheduled to be back in Orlando a few days after having out-patient back surgery, but he hasn’t been seen by the Magic in Orlando in more than three months. He has, however, attended at least two Los Angeles Dodgers games and a portion of the adidas Nations basketball tournament in L.A.

That's right. Attending a Dodgers game, and sitting in one of their suites is a lot more fun than spending time with children, that had their parents pay for them to go to his camp.

Dwight Howard is an idiot. He isn't even that great of an offensive force. He's just a piece to the puzzle, not the go to guy. Maybe he will come back to Earth one day. This guy is a fruitcake, just like Metta World Peace.

I agree. I bet if he was one of the kids signed up for camp and the sponsoring pro bailed on him he would be disappointed big time. He can't even give the kids one week? Terrible.
