Coach K said in an interview following the USA game against Brazil that Lebron James was the best player on the American team:

"LeBron played great," he said. "I think LeBron is not just a great player; LeBron's a great competitor. When he goes to the basket, he doesn't get the call even when he finishes because he's so strong. He goes through contact. His will to win was the most inspiring thing that we had on our team. It was a very, very competitive game by our best player."

I think it's surprising to see Coach K actually come out and say it publicly. He usually has more respect for the other players on his teams, and only hints at who his star player is. I feel like Kevin Durant deserves more respect, since he basically carried the USA and led the country and Coach K to win the World Championship. LeBron was so amazing on that particular night that Coach K couldn't help himself.
 
 
I guess LeBron's performance in that game was so outstanding that there was no way Coach K was not going to give him props. The Heat star scored 30 points, and the second highest score on his team was Kevin Durant with 11. I think it's pretty clear who brought the most to the table on that particular night, in a game where the USA were trailing by up to 10 points.
