Chris Paul revealed having heard Coach K tell LeBron James to take over the game against Argentina, in an interview following the game:

"LeBron, he is special. What more can you say. I came to the bench and I heard coach say take the game over. He is the guy capable of taking the game over. When you think about a guy taking the game over you just think about scoring. He is the guy who can take the game over on the defensive end. He can share the ball."

If Chris Paul says it, then it must be true. I believe Kevin Durant had a little to do with the US dominating in that 3rd quarter, because he did score 17 of his 28 points in that stretch. The difference is that LeBron dominates  by doing the dirty work, defending, scoring, rebounding and passing.
