The Alabama Crimson Tide's BCS trophy from last season was accidently shattered in pieces by one of the players' father:

"The Coaches' Trophy from this season's BCS national title was accidentally knocked off its podium and shattered by a player's father whose foot got caught on a rug that sits beneath the trophy display. The Waterford crystal trophy was on display in the Mal Moore Athletic Facility halls, home to coach Nick Saban's office and other athletic personnel."

The University of Alabama will have to pay $30,000 to have it remade in Ireland. Good thing they did not give the person responsible for this. With all the crazy fans Alabama has, including the emphatic student with the disturbing face sign, he could have gotten in trouble.
